Treesha Thosar

All of 4 years old, the child actress is known for her work in Marathi cinema. She made her debut with Marathi film Naal 2 and won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her role as Chimmi in the film, from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. and in the short moment the little girl has created a history. Naal 2 is directed by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti and is produced by Nagraj Manjule and the film focuses on sibling relationships and about her childhood in rural village settings.

With unshakable grace wearing a white saree, she walked confidently on to one of the grandest stages without any hesitation to receive her first award. Being the youngest ever recipient of the most prestigious at the 71st National Film Awards to be honored. Veteran actor Kamal Haasan expressed, Treesha had broken his record as he won his first National Award at the age of six and she is only four.

Treesha won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her motivating role as Chimi in the Marathi film Naal 2. She won the award, presented by President Droupadi Murmu. Besides the Award for Best Actress at the 71st National Film Awards, Treesha has received a certificate, a monetary prize and the Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus Award).

Treesha at a very young age has appeared in advertisements and episodic television serials and worked with actors like Siddharth Jadhav and Mahesh Manjrekar in shows such as Pet Puraan.

Treesha Thosar gained her first public attention through a television serial Aai Tuljabhavani in 2024. She then has acted in the crime series, Manyat Murders which is based on the ghastly murdered that occurred in the early 1970’s at the Marathwada regions in Maharashtra. She has also appeared in Pet Puraan.

In 2025, Treesha starred alongside Siddharth Jadhav, Mohan Agashe and Rohini Hattangadi in a Marathi Comedy Crime thriller Aatli Baatmi Futli. She also acted in a Mahesh Manjrekar’s film Punha Shivaji Raje Bhosale. Her next film will be a Hindi Heist thriller film, The Great Escape Faraar alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Treesha had started acting at the tender age of three and by age of four she had already won her first National Film Award. She was facing the camera and lights when most children at her age are learning alphabets, while she is moving a national jury with raw and natural emotions on screen. A child prodigy that she is , one can only wait and watch as life unfolds for one of the most talented and youngest actresses in Indian Cinema.
