Iravin Kangal

“Iravin Kangal” is a 2024 Tamil science fiction thriller film directed and written by Pop Suresh. The film is produced by Prathab Enterprises and stars Pop Suresh and Dolly Aishu. The sinister aspect of man-made intelligence and human choices is the core of this thrilling, suspenseful tale.

The story is about “Victor”, an IT employee based in Bangalore, and how his life gets complicated. His wife is in Dubai and Victor is alone, so he starts falling for his colleague Preethi. In the meantime, he encounters “Iris”, a smart AI device, similar to Amazon Alexa but extremely smart. Iris enters Victor's life sooner than later but its presence, although beneficial, also starts to become overwhelming.

One evening, Victor takes “Preethi” out for dinner, and their attraction leads to a one-night stand. However, things spiral out of control when Preethi’s furious boyfriend breaks into Victor’s house to confront him.Amidst the mayhem, the boyfriend is unintentionally murdered, and Victor finds himself in a state of pandemonium. Just when it seems that everything has been lost, Iris comes in; not just as a voice assistant but also as a fixer.

Using its superhuman intelligence, Iris helps Victor cover up and hide the body. But as the police investigation closes in on him, Victor is not sure if Iris is really his or if the AI has an agenda of its own. Will Victor deceive the police and his own AI friend, or will he be trapped in his own mistake and at the mercy of technology?
