Nishaan is a hindi film of the drama genre which was directed by Aspi Irani. Its story begins with the birth of two identical twins to the Maharaja of Ajitgarh. However, one of them named Kiran is presented to the people and is proclaimed to be the inheritor of the throne. The Maharaja faces various bloody succession wars between his siblings and secretly orders his trusted servant named Sangram Singh(Sheikh Mukhtar), to look after Kiran’s twin named Badal(Sanjeev Kumar) in a sense of uncertainty. The Maharaja names the child Badal after a thunderstorm and warns Sangram Singh that don't let the ‘’cloud’(Badal) overshadow the "ray of light" (Kiran). Later, Sangram Singh takes Badal to his kingdom(jagir) in Devpur and raises him as his own son. Despite the Maharaja's wishes, Sangram Singh associates Badal with the royal symbol which hints that his true identity may one day become very significant. Meanwhile, Maharaja's brother, Man Singh(Hira Lal) gets severely upset over the loss of his kingdom(jagir) and continues to struggle for years. After the Maharaja's death, Man Singh gets appointed as the new Maharaja until Kiran grows up to ascend the throne. As Man Singh becomes Maharaja, he quickly takes action to reclaim the kingdom of Devpur and outstands  Sangram Singh and Badal who now believes that Sangram Singh is  his true father. Later,as he gets excluded from the kingdom, he joins the nomadic tribe and identifies himself as ‘Daaku Sangram Singh’ a prominent figure who is although seen as a housebreaker who bravely fights to serve justice to the oppressed. This hindi film wonderfully depicts the greed for power through its drama, thrill and suspenseful scenes.
