P. G. Vishwambharan’s "Oru Kochukatha Aarum Parayatha Katha" is a 1984 Malayalam action drama. It stars Mammootty, Thilakan and Saritha Nedumudi Venu. The movie centres on Janu, who conceals her husband’s passing from their kids, concerned it might break their hearts. Her choice gets her in unanticipated trouble when someone finds out and starts to blackmail her.

Aravindan, an assistant manager in a tea plantation in Munnar, with his wife Janu and three daughters. He finds out that he has lung cancer and is recommended to move to the Tata Institute. He departs for Bombay, deceiving his family that he’s been promoted. Dr. Surendran shifts to Munnar as the family’s new neighbour, and Rajani, the youngest daughter, presents him to her mom.

The flashback reveals that Surendran and Janu are lovers, but he becomes impotent due to an accident. Surendran grows attached to the family, and Rajini develops a heart condition. Aravindan’s condition deteriorates in Bombay, and he requests Mammukka to convey the same to his wife. Shankhu, a helping hand, kills Aravindan in hospital, and he blackmails Janu for gold and money. Surendran, aware of the reality regarding Janu, saves her and admits to the CBI that she killed Shankhu to protect herself. The court releases her on bail, but the film concludes optimistically.
