Rasa is one of the upcoming movies of the drama genre. The story follows Varun, a talented young chef who is recruited by the legendary Chef Anant Nair, a harsh, aloof mentor who runs the temple of cuisine. To Anant, his restaurant is not just a place to create food: it is a location for using creativity and craftsmanship. Moreover, he believes it embodies food and identity as one.

The kitchen is authoritarian - every dish, ingredient, and technique must be marker or trait of Anant's unwavering belief that food is art. At this point, Varun is creating dishes wherein the diners have reached a place of elevated bliss. As Varun the chef continues to chase his sensory passions, he discovers shadows from which he was previously blind.

As mentorship becomes less benevolent, Varun must wrestle with ambition, obeisance, and legacy. The story evolves into an exploration of the layers involved in perfection: inspiration becomes obsession, and lightful passion has now been dangerously sullied. Mentorship becomes manipulation, and the pursuit of transcendence through food jeopardizes Varun's identity and mental state.

With emotionally engaged storytelling and rich layered cinematography, Rasa uses culinary experiences as a story telling device that attempts to channel deeper human experiences including nostalgic evocations, sensory indulgence, and philosophical exploration. The messiness between mentor and mentee serves as a rich source of inspiration for Varun as he navigate this storm in his life.
