Vayasu Pilichindi

Vayasu Pilichindi is a romantic drama film by the director C. V. Sridhar. Features Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Sripriya and Jayachitra. The film follows Murali and Prabhu, two close friends who both fall for Padma, a colleague at their workplace. Meanwhile, Jayanthi, a co-worker, quietly harbours feelings for Prabhu. But one unforeseen event triggers a string of events that radically change their ties, and permanently steer their paths. 

Raja, an orphan raised by his friend Murali's mother, works as the general manager in Murali's marketing agency. Like brothers, the two have a close relationship. Unknowingly, Murali, an alcoholic with wandering eyes, secretly loves Padma, a college student. Though aware of Raja's fondness for Padma, Padma's relative Jayanthi, a young widow helping them, finds herself drawn to him. During a visit to Jayanthi’s village, Raja ends up spending the night there alone with her. That night, Jayanthi entices him and they go to sleep together. Feeling guilty, Raja comes back after leaving her a letter. 

Reading the letter, Padma separates herself from Raja. Padma's father is quite amazed when Murali helps her after a fall. Though Padma says nothing, Raja assists Murali with their wedding arrangements. When Padma finally reveals the truth about Raja and Jayanthi and her pregnancy, Raja leaves the city. Murali finds out and feels betrayed. Raja finds Jayanthi in Bangalore and marries her before she dies in an accident. Later, Murali and Padma meet Raja again in Ooty. Tensions rise until Padma explains the full story. Realising Raja's honourable actions, Murali forgives him and steps aside, uniting Raja and Padma.

Exploring the intricacies of friendship, love, and sacrifice, Vayasu Pilichindi is a moving romantic drama. It shows love not only as passion but also as duty, and redemption, with a mature view on relationships and moral quandaries. The heartfelt film experience is memorable thanks to its emotional depth, nuanced performances and moving music.
