The actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan has made a shocking revelation wherein he has claimed that he had rejected the film ‘Swades.’ Just because the actor had found its script quite boring.

Aamir Khan has worked with the filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker in Lagaan, which later became a huge success and acquired the title of a ‘cult classic’ film. This film had even gone on to earn the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language category.

Aamir Khan recently shared why he refused Swades. He also revealed why he had not watched the film.

Aamir Khan’s Bold Statement

In a formal conversation with Zoom, the actor has shared the story of why he had refused the film Swades. he said, ‘I found it very boring! I had said this to Ashu (Ashutosh Gowariker) when he narrated the whole story to me. In fact, I’ll tell you, Ashu had narrated the story to me when we were making Lagaan. Back then, it was titled Kaveri Amma. That’s what he had told me.’

Also, the actor revealed that he hasn’t watched Swades, he said, ‘It was a three-hour-long narration. When he asked me how I liked it, I said I wanted to tell you my first reaction, and I said, ‘I got bored. It’s very important for you to hear this reaction. Actually, I have not watched Swades yet, because I found it boring, and if he’d have corrected it and people would have liked it then. I did note that the audience really admired Shah Rukh’s work in it.’

Swades is truly considered to be one of the best performances of Shah Rukh’s career.

Aamir’s Work Front Update

Moreover, the fans will see Aamir next in the upcoming film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par.’ It will be directed by RS Prasanna. Its cast includes Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles. The makers have scheduled to release the film on 20th June, 2025.
