Before Diana could become a household name with Cocktail, she was just another promising model who was working hard to establish her career on a global level.

Diana Breaks Silence on Missed Opportunity

In a formal conversation with Hautterfly, Diana Penty  revealed the situation where she could almost take on a role in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Rockstar.’ She stated, ‘I was modelling in New York when my agency called to say Imtiaz Ali was looking for a fresh face for his upcoming film, ‘Rockstar. Honestly, acting was not even on my radar at that time; I had never taken any formal training. I didn’t think I had it in me.

Later, when Imtiaz asked to join her the acting workshops arranged by him, she joined in immediately and weeks later, she got an call from Imtiaz Ali, who said, ‘You’ve come a long way and shown great improvement, but still don’t think you’re ready to play this character.’

Further, she said, ‘I deep down think that I felt a sense of relief after that conversation; I wasn’t confident at that time.’
